IT TAKES INDIVIDUAL WORK TO PREPARE FOR GROUP TRAINING SESSIONS. THEN IT TAKES DETAILED CONCENTRATION IN GROUP TRAINING SESSIONS TO PRODUCE POSITIVE RESULTS IN GAMES

I have been fortunate to coach college basketball in my home state of Connecticut for the past 8 years at the Division I and Division II levels. I usually spend time recruiting and coaching college level players during the summer. However, this summer, I was presented with the opportunity to train with a different demographic of players. What this time has allowed me to do is help offer my assistance to youth players looking to develop their basketball skills.
Ironically, there are many talented players at the college level that are difficult to coach because they are lacking a detailed work ethic that would result in consistent production. The best thing about working with youth players is not just reaching, helping them develop and enhance their game. They are receptive to coaching and guidance. I teach players that it takes individual work to prepare for group training sessions. Then it takes detailed concentration in-group training sessions to produce positive results in games.
With this instilled in them from a young age, along with the right technical approach to training for muscle memory, I know from my experience how to get players to improve.
