SDC CAMPS ALLOW PLAYERS TO HAVE THE TIME AND SPACE TO IMPROVE AT A RAPID PACE, LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES, AND BUILD GREAT PRACTICE HABITS
After starting for 4 years in college at the point guard position, I proceeded towork on my game in hopes of one day becoming a professional basketball player. In the midst of all of the hard work and dedication, I came across numerous young players asking me to help them with their own game. When I started to fall in love with training young players. I started to realize that I was getting even better by teaching what I already knew. And I have since continued to expand upon my knowledge for myself and my clients.
My background with the game of basketball helps those that train with me because I grew up being the smallest player on the court at all times. My favorite part about training kids is putting myself in their shoes and saying to myself,“What would I work on.” I had to work on my game so much just to fit in. Being someone who has built their own game up to an elite level, I know what it takes for anyone of any size or athleticism to improve their game.
A major advantage to my trainings with young players is that we focus on skills! It’s not about running up and down for 5 games every weekend and continuing bad habits. It’s about deliberate practice on technique, footwork, and ball handling to the point where muscle memory has been built enough to translate to game situations.I look forward to every single training session that I have now with young players because I have confidence in my experience and the skill development training system that I use.
